2025 Reimbursement Collaborative: Strategic Solutions for QIP and PDPM Success - Reality Check – Making Sense of Ohio’s Medicaid Reimbursement System

Includes a Live Web Event on 07/17/2025 at 1:00 PM (EDT)

July 17, 2025

Through the LeadingAge Ohio Reimbursement Collaborative, we help providers prove that it's not only possible to achieve high quality ratings and strong reimbursement—it’s strategic. High quality and high case mix aren’t mutually exclusive. This collaborative shows how aligning core strategies can strengthen both, because quality and reimbursement should work hand in hand.

In the second half of 2025, this Reimbursement Collaborative will support nursing homes in responding to Ohio’s changes in Medicaid reimbursement. This collaborative will focus on aligning strategies that impact both quality performance and reimbursement outcomes. Each session will help participants identify where QIP measures and PDPM classifications intersect and how system-level changes can drive improvement across both. Participants will also receive facility-specific QIP and PDPM reports to guide data-driven decision-making throughout the series.

This kickoff session sets the stage with an in-depth look at the budget changes impacting Ohio Medicaid reimbursement. We’ll discuss how Ohio’s budget changes influences both the Quality Incentive Payment (QIP) program and the case-mix transition to PDPM. Participants will gain a clear understanding of how QIP, PDPM, and other components come together to determine each nursing home’s Medicaid rate. We will discuss what providers need to understand to impact reimbursement under both programs.

Continuing Education for EACH Session:

1.0 clock hours will be awarded upon successful completion. Pending BELTSS approval.

1.2 CPE hours will be awarded upon successful completion.

Criteria for successful completion: Attendance at entire event and submission of completed evaluation form.
