June 10, 2026 - Participants will examine common survey findings related to abuse investigations and learn practical strategies to strengthen internal reporting systems, ensure timely investigations, and support staff in recognizing and responding appropriately to potential abuse situations.

May 13, 2026 - Participants will learn how surveyors evaluate medical records during complaint investigations and how improving documentation processes can reduce survey risk while supporting clear communication and continuity of care.

This engaging collaborative focuses on building systems that sustain regulatory compliance, improve health inspection star ratings, and mitigate financial and liability risks. Participants will explore practical approaches to leveraging EMR systems, identifying facility-specific focus areas, and implementing sustainable processes for continuous improvement.

April 8, 2026 - Participants will learn how surveyors evaluate medication storage areas, controlled substance management, and pharmacy service oversight during survey activities, and how strengthening internal controls can reduce both survey risk and medication safety concerns.

Participants will learn practical strategies to strengthen care planning processes, ensure care plans reflect current resident needs, and demonstrate effective implementation during survey and audit review.

This session will outline CMS expectations for conducting active, ongoing surveillance; review common gaps that lead to citations; and discuss practical tools infection preventionists can use to track, analyze, and respond to infection risks.

This session will break down CMS’s definition and criteria for Immediate Jeopardy, highlight common IJ trends seen in Ohio and nationally, and walk through how surveyors identify and substantiate IJ situations during the survey process.

This session will explore CMS expectations for continence care, restorative nursing programs, and documentation to support interventions. Participants will learn strategies to ensure residents receive appropriate bowel and bladder management that enhances quality of life, reduces infection risks, and meets regulatory requirements.
