STAT: Survey Tips and Tactics 2023 Significant Change in Status

Discover how nursing homes are being cited with their annual surveys. The Long-Term Care Survey Process and regulatory language will be reviewed. Each month will delve into a specific survey topic. Common citation examples will be given with interactive discussion from members sharing their survey experiences. Obtain useful tips and tactics for the monthly highlighted topic. Resources and other reference material will be shared.

Significant change citations are prevalent in five of the top ten F-tag citations in Ohio in2023. This session will cover how a significant change in status results in citations. The surveyor protocol in determining if a significant change is avoidable or unavoidable will be explained. Regulatory language and recommended standards of practice will be shared. ODH updates and current citation trends in Ohio will be discussed. Resources and other reference material will be shared.

Continuing Education

1.0 clock hour will be awarded upon successful completion.

Criteria for successful completion:   Completion of entire activity and submission of completed evaluation form.
