Discover how nursing homes are being cited with their annual surveys. The Long-Term Care Survey Process and regulatory language will be reviewed. Each month will delve into a specific survey topic. Common citation examples will be given with interactive discussion from members sharing their survey experiences, best practices, and lessons learned. Obtain useful tips and tactics for the monthly highlighted topic. Resources and other reference material will be shared.
The updated CMS guidance on pain management emphasizes a person-centered approach to addressing acute, chronic, and subacute pain in alignment with CDC definitions. This session will highlight key revisions, including the recommendation to consider immediate-release opioids over extended-release or long-acting options and the importance of individualized opioid treatment plans. Participants will review the expanded resources for opioid use and strategies to ensure compliance with the updated regulatory language, focusing on safe and effective pain management practices.
