    Live Webinar, September 11 - This session will delve into the core elements of an antibiotic stewardship program and review common areas of non-compliance. Best practices and available resources will be shared.

    STAT Series: Discover how nursing homes are being cited with their annual surveys. The Long-Term Care Survey Process and regulatory language will be reviewed. Each month will delve into a specific survey topic. Common citation examples will be given with interactive discussion from members sharing their survey experiences, best practices, and lessons learned. Obtain useful tips and tactics for the monthly highlighted topic. Resources and other reference material will be shared.

    Each webinar is a separate virtual event. Registration is required for each.

    Quality of care citations are the fourth most frequently cited F-tag for annual surveys and the third for compliant surveys. A spotlight on quality of care in nursing homes was heightened as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. This session will delve into the national focus on quality of care and explore trends identified in recent Ohio Department of Health surveys. Best practices in monitoring quality of care and implementing QAPI strategies will be discussed.



    Instructions to purchase course:

    • One individual from per site location purchases course through the Learning Center.
    • Purchaser reviews confirmation email with information on how participants at their site may access the course and education materials.
    • Purchaser shares access information to participants and encourages participants to log into the course prior to the live webinar date. 


    Continuing Education Information

    1.0 clock hours will be awarded upon successful completion.  

    Criteria for successful completion: Attendance at entire event and submission of completed evaluation form.

    LeadingAge Ohio is an approved provider by the Board of Executives of Long Term Services and Supports. Core of knowledge subject areas: Care, Services and Support; Operations; Environment and Quality. 

    As stated in the Ohio Administrative Code Rule 4723-14-05, education that has been approved by a board or an agency that regulates a health care profession in Ohio or another jurisdiction is an acceptable option to meet nursing continuing education requirements.


    Substitution and Cancellation Policy

    Substitutions, in writing, are welcome at no additional cost. Cancellations received by two calendar weeks prior to event date will be fully refunded. Cancellations received between 7 and 13 days prior to the event date will be refunded minus a $40 processing fee. No refunds will be issued 6 or fewer days prior to the event date.

    Learners have 10 days from live event to complete the course.

    Embark on the next phase of our collaborative webinar series, where we delve into the next set of quality measures impacting Ohio’s Medicaid Quality Incentive Payment (QIP). Join us as we navigate the intricacies of Medicaid reimbursement, now enhanced for FY24 and FY25 with additional quality measures, staffing, and occupancy points, resetting semi-annually. This series equips nursing home providers with essential knowledge and tools to obtain Medicaid reimbursement and elevate quality outcomes.

    Throughout this series, nursing home providers will acquire insights into achieving results through collaborative synergy. Previous participants have affirmed the series' efficacy in keeping their teams focused on the QIP and Quality Measures. Each month, sessions will include financial projections, providing resources and insights to streamline processes and impact quality measures directly. Attendees can expect valuable tips, tactics, and resources to aid implementation throughout the series.

    This is a packaged webinar series.

    Instructions:

    1. One representative per site registers for the webinar series package. A coupon/discount code for the site will be emailed to the representative in the confirmation email.
    2. The representative shares the registration information found in the confirmation email, including discount/coupon code, to others at their site who wish to:
      1. View the webinars individually/in a non-congregate setting and/or
      2. Obtain education credit.

    Each person wishing to view the webinar individually and/or obtain education credit must register for the webinar. The site's discount/coupon code will bring the cart to $0 at checkout.

    Antibiotics are among the most frequently prescribed medications in nursing homes, with up to 70% of residents in a nursing home receiving one or more courses of systemic antibiotics when followed over a year. Studies have shown that 40–75% of antibiotics prescribed in nursing homes may be unnecessary or inappropriate.     Join LeadingAge Ohio tomorrow at 11:30AM, for the June All-Member Webinar. Ohio is adding significant changes to infection control requirements for Residential Care Facilities and Nursing Homes. LeadingAge Ohio staff will cover changes released by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) over the last year. A sample of changes that will be touched on include Enhanced Barrier Precautions (EBP), source control, and changes to the CDC metrics.
